Stuart-Dillard Kappa Relays

Stuart-Dillard Kappa Relays were held at William Fleming High School on Wednesday, March 25.  Middle Schools of Roanoke participated in the meet.  Approximately 200 student athletes (girls and boys) participated in Field Events and Relays.

The Roanoke Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has sponsored the Relays since the early 1970s Coach Sherley Stuart initiated the Relays and Coach Rudy Dillard (deceased) continued the Relay’s until his death.

Approximately, 200 students participated in the Track Meet, representing the Middle Schools of James Madison, Breckinridge, Lucy Addison, Andrew Jackson and Woodrow Wilson.  Awards were presented to team members who placed 1st, 2nd, and 3rd in the various relays and field events.  Students from each school were recognized for academic achievement.  Coaches from each school selected a male and female student to receive the plaques.  Jayda Mayson and Davidson Joseph, James Madison MS; Jataysha Beck and Sam Thompson, Breckingridge MS; Kameron Washington-Brown and Melvin C. Martinnez, Lucy Addison MS; Qryzma Kolenda and Nichlos Quarrles, Stonewall Jackson MS; and Destiny Mayo and Skylor Stallworth, Woodrow Wilson MS.
Lucy Addison MS was the overall meet winner capturing the Relays for both girls and boys.

The Roanoke Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity expresses its sincere appreciation of William Fleming High School Administration and staff, Roanoke Public School Administration and all parents and spectators who contributed to the success of this special event.
